ABACAN, the Association for Animal Welfare, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing logistical support, labor, and construction materials to improve the facilities of animal shelters and enhance the feeding of animals in shelters and rescue centers.
Meet Maribel Borràs
PresidentHer love for animals, especially the most disadvantaged, was the main motivation for founding this solidarity project.Trained as an osteopath, she also specialized in canine socialization and skills (Demascotas).She is a technician and expert in animal-assisted therapy (Cectac).A therapy dog instructor, she has completed various courses in canine education (Me and My Dog and Mona Teller, among others).She has participated with dogs in several bidirectional reintegration programs in correctional facilities in Catalonia (Brians 2).
Meet Ricard Sales
TreasurerHe is responsible for the Food Bank and also manages the logistics and coordination of rehabilitation work at shelters, as well as the volunteers involved.
Meet Dolors Homero
SecretaryHer journey with animals began as a volunteer at various shelters, caring for and adopting dogs with significant health issues rescued from difficult situations.
Meet Marc Pineda
Founding member of the board of directors, alongside the rest of the team. A graphic designer by training and a rescuer by vocation, he has been involved in numerous animal rescues and police seizures.
He has extensive experience handling dogs of all breeds, having cared for around forty dogs at an animal shelter.
